The Texas heat of summer has definitely arrived in full force. As I was considering recipes for this month’s Whole Foods cooking demo, I wanted to offer something easy to whip up without heating up your kitchen, refreshing, simple, and healthy.
I am in the process of moving. I’ve been going through piles of cooking magazines I don’t want to move into my new house, tearing out pages with recipes that caught my attention. I had a big stack of Vegetarian Times magazines. In one of the issues, was an entire section on sorbets. They ALL looked wonderful. I chose 2 to demo at Whole Foods, one sweet and one more savory: Raspberry Lemonade Sorbet and Mojito Cucumber Sorbet. You can click on the links and get the recipes from the Vegetarian Times website.
You can prepare the sorbets, spoon them into small cups or jello-shot cups with lids, and freeze them. When friends pop in over the summer, you’ll have a cool treat to offer them. After I’m moved into my new house, I’m going to pour the sorbet mixture into ice cube trays and add them to my glasses of water for flavored water throughout the summer!
